Art Scholarships

Year 3 to Year 6 Art Scholarships

When applying for an Art Scholarship at Vinehall, children should demonstrate a true passion for the Creative Arts. This enthusiasm will be clear to see, not only through their work but also in the external drivers that influence their interest, for example a child’s ability to talk about favourite styles and artists, or to recall visits to galleries and art events in the wider community.

Prospective candidates should bring a folder of artwork to show on the day of the scholarship interview; this should show off their skill, commitment, enthusiasm and creative thinking.  Scholarship candidates will be given a still life to draw on the day of the art scholarship and they must show that they can observe detail, shape, tone and texture using graphite pencil. If you would like to discuss your child’s art scholarship application, please contact our Head of Art, Tracey Konyu at tkonyu@vinehallschool.com

Art Scholarships Year 7

When applying for an Art Scholarship at Vinehall School, candidates should demonstrate a true passion for the Creative Arts. This enthusiasm will be clear to see, not only through their work but also from the pupil’s ability to recall visits to galleries and art events in the wider community.

Prospective candidates will be asked to bring to the assessment a selection of their artwork, which demonstrate a range of skills. On the day, candidates will be asked to sit a drawing test, lasting one hour and thirty minutes. During this time, they will be asked to capture a still life arrangement using line and tone.

Art Scholars will be expected to attend Art Club, to enter competitions and to work on their own projects. Pupils will be encouraged to build on their portfolio both in school and in their own time. If you would like to discuss your child’s art scholarship application, please contact our Head of Art, Tracey Konyu at tkonyu@vinehallschool.com
