What is your role at Vinehall?

English Teacher as well as enrichment activities for all readers, avid and reluctant.

What made you want to be a teacher?

I spent two years teaching English in Japan many moons ago, which gave me a taste for teaching.  Now I am enjoying teaching a subject that I love to children and watching them make progress in their learning.

What do you enjoy most about Vinehall?

The community spirit – we are small and friendly!

What are you planning that you are most excited about?

Helping the Year 4s learn to cook on a more regular basis! A valuable and fun life skill – Mrs Barrett and I would like to do cookery with the children at least once every half-term.

What is your best teaching memory?

My most surprising teaching memory was when a pigeon flew into my classroom in Japan!

When you are not in the classroom I am most likely to be …

With my children and my bonkers tortoiseshell cat.

Something not many people know about you is …

I used to be a lawyer but before that I worked as a legal journalist for a year.  Law is fascinating but teaching is so much more rewarding.
