What is your role at Vinehall?
Assistant Head Pastoral, Designated Safeguarding Lead.
What subjects do you teach?
Life Skills, Children’s committees, Digital Leaders and Japanese Club
What made you want to become a teacher?
I originally became a music teacher because I loved music and I wanted children to have fun in music lessons. But I loved being a form tutor more and I liked getting to know children and helping them with problems so I started doing more pastoral work. (I still manage to sing in class though!)
What do you enjoy most about Vinehall?
I love hearing news from all the children, the big ones and the little ones. I love having a laugh in lessons (we can be serious sometimes!), walking around the school every morning whilst visiting different forms and hearing their stories (and getting hugs from the little ones!) – there is always something exciting happening here! I also love our amazing school grounds especially in the summer.
What are you planning that you are most excited about?
Trip to the Bay of Naples in October, thematic lessons in Year 7 next year, Summer Capture the Flag inter-house competition for Charity.
Best teaching memory:
Wow … I don’t know if I can pick one?! Has to be school trips – at Vinehall it was going to France with Year 7.
When you are not in the classroom you are most likely to be …
With my family entertaining other families!
Something not many people know about you is …
I parachuted off the top of a mountain and loved it!
