What subject do you teach?
I’m the Vinehall swimming coach and teacher. Teaching all the children from Reception to Year 8.
What made you want to become a teacher?
I was a competitive swimmer and in 1980, when my children were young, I was asked to become the Hastings Seagulls’ Head Coach.
What do you enjoy most about Vinehall?
The companionship of the wonderful staff and the competitive side of each squad.
Your most exciting project/trip in the pipeline (if you cannot say please just allude):
I’m thrilled to have taken 17 of the Vinehall swim squad to the National Finals. This was held again at the Aquatic Centre in the Olympic Park, a fantastic place to swim and an amazing achievement for the pupils.
Best teaching memory:
Coaching the squadron relay team, who broke the national record in 2005.
When you are not in the classroom/sports field you are most likely to be:
Working hard in my garden.
Something not many people know about you is:
I am a fully qualified, bespoke trained cutter and tailor.
