What is your role at Vinehall?

Head of English.

What subject do you teach?

English, Fencing and Debating.

What made you want to become a teacher?

I’ve always been passionate about educating others (and financed my student life tutoring), so teaching has always been in my blood, but I only returned to it after having grown dissatisfied with my work as a lawyer.

What do you enjoy most about Vinehall?

The friendly atmosphere.

What are you planning that you are most excited about?

Finding out whether the Vinehall bees will live up to their aggressive reputation.

Best teaching memory:

Too many, and so varied: fencing, beekeeping, English, debating. A fairly recent highlight was, despite the odds being heavily stacked against us, winning the South-East prep Schools Sabre Fencing Championships for the second time in a row.

When you are not in the classroom you are most likely to be …

At home drawing, reading or writing, or on the Southbank poetry busking.

Something not many people know about you is …

I read Tarot cards.
