European Day of Languages

Once again, MHS was taken over by all things European for the day for our celebration of the European Day of Languages.

Pupils were 'tagged' by teachers who greeted them with the word "hello" in various languages from around the world. That gave such a great buzz around the school and made for a simple but effective celebration of languages.

We were very grateful to the many parents who visited and talked to their child's class about their culture and language: Czech, Polish, Spanish, Swedish, Dutch, French, Ukrainian, etc... What a rich school we are with over 18% of families having a parent who speak a foreign language as their mother tongue.

We were treated to delicious snacks and a tasty Mediterranean Lunch and of course, our European Day of Languages was tied in with the Macmillan Coffee Morning and Cake Sale, which was hugely successful once again. Thank you to all for taking part!
