Set in 47 acres of parkland on the East Sussex/Kent border, Vinehall School nurtures and educates boys and girls aged 2 to 13.
We have a long tradition of providing an outstanding education and exceptional opportunities for personal development for day and boarding pupils, with highly qualified teachers and staff providing fantastic pastoral care.
All pupils at Vinehall School enjoy use of our excellent facilities including our recently refurbished theatre, music rooms, indoor swimming pool, sports fields, outdoor learning and play areas and woodlands.
Vinehall has a well-deserved reputation for helping all pupils to achieve their potential in academics, the arts, sports and other interests.
We have a 100% pass rate at Common Entrance, a high Scholarship success rate, an orchestra, a thriving drama department and tremendous results on the sports field against other schools locally and in the National Prep School championships.
For parents unable to do the school-run themselves, our minibuses for day pupils and flexi-boarders provide a convenient alternative transport service from Cranbrook, Heathfield, Wadhurst, Eastbourne, Mayfield and Hastings.
For our weekly and full-time boarders we are well connected by road, rail and air to the region, London and London airports (including Gatwick, Heathrow, London City and Stansted).
Vinehall Pre Prep – Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
Reception: Children 4-5 years old
Year 1: Children 5-6 years old
Year 2: Children 6-7 years old
At Vinehall we provide high quality early learning for all our children, supporting and challenging individuals as appropriate.
We encourage an enthusiasm for learning by offering a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum.
Our children enjoy a rich learning experience which is fun and full of exciting activities such as outings, interacting with visitors, gardening, woodland exploration and cookery.
Our modern purpose-built Pre-Prep School provides spacious, bright classrooms and wonderful outdoor play areas as well as a designated Outdoor Learning Area and woodland zone.
The close proximity to the Prep School enables the younger children to use all the facilities including the indoor swimming pool, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) suite, theatre, magnificent sports complex and playing fields.
We make full use of the extensive grounds enjoying rambles through the snow in winter, growing plants in the summer and the thrills of science investigations throughout the year.
We aim for each child to develop into a confident and considerate individual and we work closely with our families and other professionals and agencies.
Each class has support from teaching assistants and by the end of Year 2 most of the children are reading and writing to a comparatively high standard, which they have gained from a nurturing, yet stimulating environment.
Our recent Inspection report (2012) rated us “outstanding”.
