Scholarships for entry in September 2018

Scholarships are available for children applying for entry in to Year 4 upwards in academic subjects, Sport, Art, Music and Drama/Performing Arts. Children can be assessed in a maximum of two practical subjects.

The 2018 scholarship assessment dates are as follows:
Saturday 3rd February: Academic Scholarship Assessments
Monday 5th February: Practical Scholarship Assessments
Scholarships are non means tested and are worth 10% of the basic school fees.
Scholarships can be augmented by means tested bursary support.  Additional information can be obtained, in confidence, from the Bursar at
The deadline for applications is: Monday 29th January 2018.

Scholarship candidates are assessed in their chosen area by means of a practical assessment within the relevant school department. All children are automatically assessed for an Academic Scholarship. The tests will consist of English, Maths and a short piece of creative writing. We do not recommend any tutoring for the tests as they are designed to look for potential rather than previous attainment.

For those applying for a scholarship in sport, art, music and drama/performing arts, the academic tests are required to assess the level of a candidate against other children in the appropriate school year. They are not used as the deciding factor when Scholarships are offered.

Further information can be obtained from Karen Cooper, Registrar, at or on 01580 883090.

Full details and an application form can be downloaded below.

Bursaries (which are means tested and reviewable annually) are available for entry from Year 3.
