Year 4 had an amazing day at Leeds Castle last Friday, helped by the most glorious frosty winter’s day, a beautiful setting and a fabulous group of Vinehall children.

It started with the workshop, where the ladies from Leeds Castle took us through the Ages in a play, in which we all had roles and costumes.  Olivia C, the archaeologist, launched us into each era by finding an artefact buried in sand which told us about that period of history.  We then made a human timeline with our costumes.

Next we visited the wonderful play area which we had all to ourselves.  We had a picnic lunch in the sunshine (with a very annoying Seagull who nearly ate Charlie EH’s sandwich).  We then headed off for a tour of the castle, which was absolutely beautiful.

Our final stop was the maze, which was so much fun.  Charlie C made it to the top first and Harvey P rescued most of us and showed us the way out.

All in all a really good day which I hope the children enjoyed.    Louise Barrett
