“Books are a unique portable magic.”  So says Stephen King, the novelist and short-story writer, in his book “On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft”.

This week, local bookseller Rosie Hill brought some of that magic to Vinehall at our annual Book Fair.  Pupils from Year 3 up to Year 8 enjoyed browsing a range of books, from beautifully bound classics such as ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Treasure Island’ to the latest best-selling novels from Malorie Blackman, Robin Stevens and more.

Rosie also brought a fantastic array of non-fiction books so there would be something to suit everyone.  Pupils loved picking out books and having a quiet read in a corner.

One of the highlights for me was spotting Monty G, Arthur P and Alfie E enjoying a bit of ‘story-time’ in a nook of the Drawing Room – who says 13 year old boys can’t enjoy a quiet moment with a book?!

The books ordered by children will be delivered to school within the next couple of weeks and I know the children can hardly wait!
