The Colts A played in the IAPS small schools 7-a-side tournament on Monday and finished in 3rd place. This was a great achievement for the Colts, who played some great football against some very strong small schools.

The tournament was held at Charterhouse School and, after a long journey, the Vinehall boys managed to finish top of their group, winning five games and drawing one. They played some wonderful football and, although the matches were only six minutes, the boys were very clinical and deserved to finish top of a very competitive group.

We progressed to the quarter finals and, after hitting the post twice and the crossbar once, we just couldn’t break Bedales Prep school down and the match went to penalties. After we scored our first two penalties, Bedales Prep missed and it left Josh S to score the winning penalty.

The semi final match against Eaton Square was again very close. We had already beaten them 2-0 in the group stage but unfortunately the boys just couldn’t break them down and they scored a goal on the counter against us.

Although the boys were gutted not to make the final, they played a great match in the 3rd and 4th play-off and won 1-0. Everyone came away with a medal after a great afternoon of football played at a very high level.
