‘We rise by lifting others.’
– Robert Ingersoll
The Year 4s and Year 5s were delighted to have a special guest visit this week. Ms Joanna Norland, a storyteller, captivated our attention and inspired us to think more about empathy. Ms Norland shared her story ‘Three Pounds Fifty in Change’, which spirited some engaging discussions and helped us to realise how many different ways we can show empathy in our daily lives. We have now embarked on ‘An Empathy Adventure’ where we will show an act of kindness to someone each day and keep a journal. We loved ‘The Smile Game’ at the end of the workshop as we made eye contact, passed on our smiles and jumped for joy. Many thanks to Ms Norland for creating a memorable and meaningful experience for our Junior learners.
