As part of Activities Week, children from Years 4, 5, 6 and 7 made scrumptious chocolate-chip cookies from scratch, in our Cookery Room, next door to the science labs.

The recipe we used was from the BBC Good Food website

We were under a bit of time pressure to get everything mixed, made, baked and cooled in less than an hour, but the children rose to the challenge. As Luca F commented, “This is like Junior Ready Steady Cook!”

You will be delighted to hear that the children also practised their washing up and wiping up skills too. Albert M in Year 4 was awarded a credit for his washing up efforts and Arthur P got a cheer from the whole Cookery Room for producing his batch of cookies in record time!

We hope that some of the cookies arrived home for your enjoyment!

Thank you so much to Kate Dawson, Emily Everist, Joff Powis, Phoebe Cameron, Laura Percy-White, Lou Barrett, Tom Moore and Sam Kerslake for helping to supervise the children during their cookery sessions.
