Year 5 and 6 have been investigating all types of shape and measure this week. Year 5 have been classifying 2D shapes by creating their own flow charts to identify them. Year 6 have been exploring 3D shapes and their nets and developed great patience while waiting for glue to dry to hold their creations together.

Year 5 also took advantage of the fantastic  weather to measure the AstroTurf in meters and then convert to centimetres; they then went on a perimeter walk to discover if we could walk a kilometre by measuring groups of 10 clicks with the trundle wheel. We found that we could! From the Astro gates around to the start of the wooded area of forest school is a kilometre. To continue to the fire pit added an extra 100m.
