This week Vinehall received its first certificate from the Royal Horticulture Society for its involvement in their School Gardening Awards! The scheme involves working through five levels of achievement, to encourage and support the school to make the most of our gardens as a learning resource.

To achieve our Level One certificate we had to submit written plans of how we wanted to develop our gardens, who was going to be involved and what we were going to grow. Our new vegetable beds that have been laid out are a big part of the plan, as is the new orchard area and the development of the De Beer courtyard into a sensory garden. But ultimately, by fully utilising all of the amazing outdoor space that Vinehall has to offer, we aim to benefit the whole school and the wider community.

We look forward to moving on to work towards the next level!
