Vinehall Venturers got off to a fantastic start this term with Year 4. This week we explored how other countries commemorate the war and learned that 25th April is known as ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Day in Australia and New Zealand. Both countries give this name to the Anzac biscuit that is used to raise funds for their Veteran associations and we set about making these to commemorate. The Year 4s did a brilliant job in carefully measuring grams and they learned the clever trick to ‘zero’ the scales as they added another ingredient to reduce the number of bowls used. Many also spotted the fractions in the recipe like those they have been studying in Maths. The mixture was taken to be baked at home and enjoyed with their families.
