Our focus in Year 5 geography this term is Africa. This week we have found out how diverse Africa is by looking at the different biomes and climates within the continent. This included labelling and matching descriptions of the biomes, as well as interpreting climate graphs. We were surprised to see that Egypt was the hottest place in July, but also the coldest place in January (although it is still pretty warm!) We had to consider that the seasons would differ across Africa, depending on which hemisphere each country is in. Everyone was keen to say which country they would like to go to and at what time of year they would like to visit.
