We were thrilled to hear that Alex W has been awarded a hugely deserved music scholarship to Battle Abbey School.

It has been a privilege and a joy to watch him blossoming into a wonderful young musician, and no one can have failed to be impressed by his amazing organ playing at the end of last year’s carol service.

Alex is also a superb pianist and is planning to take his Grade 8 exam next term, a fine clarinettist and singer.  We know that he will continue to inspire everyone with his dexterity and passion for everything musical and we wish him every success for, what we hope will be, an amazing future.  SG

We were delighted to hear that Mylo R has been awarded an All Rounder Scholarship to Battle Abbey School. Mylo is a strong all-round sportsman, but his passion is football. Last year he was the only Year 7 to gain a place on the unbeaten 1st XI team. What is perhaps less well known about Mylo is his talent for computing. He has built his own computer from scratch, having researched and sourced the various components. Mylo is thoroughly deserving of his scholarship and will undoubtedly make the most of the opportunities available to him at Battle Abbey. PB

We were absolutely thrilled to hear that Clemmie D has been awarded a music exhibition to Benenden School. During her time at Vinehall Clemmie has blossomed into an accomplished, versatile musician who has given generously of her time and supported the music department wholeheartedly. You will have heard her beautiful singing voice  during the first verse of ‘Once in Royal’ and in last year’s ‘virtual concert’, but Clemmie is also a talented violinist and pianist. I am most grateful to the instrumental teachers who helped prepare Clemmie for the Benenden audition. A wonderful achievement and recognition for years of hard work and dedication. SG
