This year, Safer Internet Day took place on Tuesday 9th February. Zeneptha De Cordova worked on the theme throughout the week in Computing lessons and Dom Britt delivered an assembly on the day itself in the Prep School.
This year, the theme of the day was ‘An Internet We Trust’ and pupils were encouraged to scrutinise material they come across on the internet by using the ‘Question, Check, Ask’ method, ensuring its reliability. The ability to ascertain the reliability of sources is hugely useful for the children to get to the truth of important questions; it also complements the work they will do/have been doing in Year 7 and 8 in their Study Skills lessons, providing them with strong foundations in the basics of academic research. A big thank you, in particular, to Zeneptha for all she did to make the day and week such a success.
