The Lunar New Year (also commonly known as Chinese New Year here in the United Kingdom) is upon us. This festival, typically celebrated in China and in many other Asian countries, follows the lunar calendar. Ally Linney lived in Vietnam for six years and always looked forward to the streets adorned with flowers. The dates of the holiday vary from year to year, beginning sometime between 21st January and 20th February. This year, celebrations will take place on Friday 12th February.

In this festival, or Tết, we welcome The Year of the Ox and so for those born in 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009 or 2021, your auspicious year is upon you!
