Year 6 pupils have made shoebox scenes to show the Borrowers’ home under the floorboards. The Borrowers are little people who live in different places around the house and they are named after the place they live behind – such as the Clocks, the Overmantels and the Harpsichords. We are reading the book The Borrowers by Mary Norton in class at the moment. It is very exciting because we always end on a cliff-hanger and have to stop reading and wait until the next lesson.
Almost all Year 6 pupils have made these wonderful little scenes; some have tables and cotton-reel chairs; some have little matchbox beds, but they are all beautiful in their own way. Some children have done two or three!
