Year 7 have been working on the theme of ‘Pilgrimage’ this half term, studying places of pilgrimage for various religions in different regions of the world, including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. They have studied sites in Israel and Palestine that are places of pilgrimage common to many religions, and the tensions caused by this.
Finally they were asked to present to their peers on one of four topics:
- The life of Siddhartha Guatama.
- An imaginary interview with a Sikh about pilgrimage and the Golden Temple.
- Why are lakes and rivers so sacred to Hindus?
- What are the possible benefits of pilgrimage?
Here are two examples:
