As part of looking at animal poetry this term, Year 6 have been grappling with Lord Tennyson’s poem “The Kraken”, and have been doing dictionary work to try to work out some of the trickier words and phrases in the poem, including “polpypi” and “millennial”. While stretching and extending their vocabulary, they have also been imagining what the mythical sea monster might look like.
