In Maths, some of Year 6 put their ratio and proportion learning into practice. They tested out what would happen to the strength of squash if two equally strong mixtures were added together.
Previous speculations were that it would get stronger or stay the same. Trying it with real squash managed to convince most that it would in fact taste exactly the same and, although there was more concentrate, there was also more water.
We then investigated the ratios of flavours in different sizes of starburst packet and which would be better for their preferred flavour. The big packet won for most children with a slightly higher ratio of purple.
