There was Bake-Off fever in Pre-Prep last week, as the children took part in baking delicious treats to share with each other. The children were encouraged to think about recipes and foods they like to eat and all the year groups worked incredibly hard to make their amazing creations. We were promoting the theme of baking and team work throughout the entire week and have enjoyed discussing our recipes with everyone.
Nursery and Kindergarten joined forces with Billy Bee to bake their cookies, in a spectacular honeycomb creation surrounded by buzzing bees. Mrs Parkin and Reception made Free-From Chocolate Brownies after they had learnt about where cocoa comes from and the different types of beans. Mrs Garwood and Reception made a Victoria sponge which the class voted to call Sheepy. Sheepy was joined by lamb cake pops so he was not alone. Year 1 wanted to split into two groups, one for savoury and one for sweet. They chose mooncakes for the astronauts to walk on and mini calzone. Year 2 went over to the Prep school for their baking this week and the smell was fantastic from their courgette and apple muffins and honey flapjacks.
The week ended in a Bake Off judging by Chef Matt and Ms Newcomb. Well done to everyone for taking part, as all of the contributions were fantastic. A further congratulations to Year 2 who won the Great Pre-Prep Bake Off. Thank you to all of the parents and families who came to share the afternoon and sample the different bakes.
