With threats of storms and gales throughout the week, there were many sighs of relief when the Friends of Vinehall arrived to finish setting up the Pet Show last Saturday. All their hard work was worth it as all manner of animals, large and small, began to descend onto the Front Lawn.
Despite the potential for chaos (dogs, cats, children!) everything ran smoothly and according to plan. Our huge thanks go to Emma Watkins for her organisation and to the esteemed judges for giving up their time to make such difficult decisions.
With classes ranging through the scruffiest dog, waggiest tail and fancy dress, there really was something for everyone, although we are not sure Marmite really enjoyed the fancy dress one! As Headmaster Joff Powis said, “you either love it or hate it!”
Special mention must go to Red Setter, Hector who was awarded “best in show” – well done!
You can see from the photos that great fun was had by all – pets, parents and children. However, while the emphasis was on having a good time, all proceeds from the show go towards this year’s charities, Rwanda Aid and Dom’s Food Mission.
