Six Vinehall Year 5 mathematicians travelled to St Andrew’s in Eastbourne for a maths challenge that saw them pitting their problem solving wits against lots of local schools.

They tackled problems with tangrams, dominoes, timetables and many others, all with a time limit counting down on them.

Despite the pressure all of the children did brilliantly, with Lucy P and Albie G gaining 4th place out of 42 teams. All the children enjoyed the challenge and gained lots of new skills.

Thank you to St Andrew’s for a wonderful afternoon of maths and well done to the Vinehall children: Lucy P, Albie G, Zain J, Hannah Q, Sebastian B and Milo P.
