U10A at Bede’s Netball Tournament

This was a lovely afternoon of netball hosted by Bede’s at the Dicker.  The tournament consisted of two pools of six teams, each playing five six-minute matches against the other teams in their group.  The 1st and 2nd placed teams progressed to an eight-minute semi-final, the winners of which played a ten minute final.  Vinehall lost to Great Walstead in the semi-final but went on to third place by beating Skipper’s Hill in the other ten-minute final game.  Bede’s provided umpires for all the matches and four teams played concurrently which made for a good spectator experience.

The Vinehall team consisted of Willow G Goal Keeper; Seren W Goal Defence; Camilla B Wing Defence; May A Centre; Grace W Wing Attack; Imogen W Goal Attack; and Clara F and Kenisha N who shared Goal Shooter.  The match breakdown was as follows:

Main competition Vinehall v Claremont won 5-0
Vinehall v Moira House lost 0-1
Vinehall v Bede’s won 3-0
Vinehall v Bricklehurst won 5-1
Vinehall v Skipper’s Hill lost 1-3
Semi Final Vinehall v Great Walstead lost 1-3
Plate Final (for third and fourth place) Vinehall v Skipper’s Hill won 5-1

May A and Imogen W were both congratulated by the umpires for excellent performances.  Everyone gave of their best and the whole team was a credit to Vinehall, both in performance and behaviour, with everyone playing her part in this excellent result – Well done!
