The sun shone on the children today as they went down to the fire pit to see how resilient they could be in their little teams. Having collected crimson red leaves from the maple tree by the chapel, they created some imaginative poppy artwork out of them. They then wrote the word ‘Remember’ with sticks and other natural ‘treasures’ they had found in the woods.
They needed resilience to use fire steels, persevering and lighting little fires out of cotton wool (closely watched by Mrs Barrett!) Hot chocolate and toasting their own crumpets proved very popular!
What a great way to celebrate Remembrance and our theme of the week, ‘Resilience’. Well done, Years 3&4!
