Professional animator, Norm Konyu has worked with companies including Dreamworks, Walt Disney, Cartoon Network and the BBC. His work spans commercials, TV series and feature films. He recently contributed to a CBeebies show which won two BAFTAs and an International EMMY.

The two-day course was open to all and featured a variety of activities. Some of which were profoundly educational and some of which were just plain fun.

Norm introduced the pupils to some animation trickery in the form of thaumatropes, zoetropes and praxinoscopes. There were many opportunities to experiment with stop-motion techniques, to use flip books and to create character designs.

After watching the rushes from the first day, all pupils were able to revisit their work on the second day and enjoy their achievements. Hopefully, there will be some budding animators in our midst.
