It has become a tradition for the February concert in our International Concert Series for cakes to be produced for Rwanda. The audience enjoyed a wonderful performance by the famous clarinettist Emma Johnson and Friends before heading up the drive for their refreshments. The cakes are sold (and eaten) in the interval and I am very grateful to Mrs Ogilvie and her team for producing this year’s selection.
The children spoke to the audience beforehand and raised a laugh when the three Year 7 speakers (Ludo, Mia and Noah) called out, ‘Let them eat cake!’ Freddie, Sarah and Josie made the main speech and were witty and clear – perfect public speaking! David Chaplin, who founded RwandaAid was there with Sally to sell Rwanda cards. The total raised for RwandaAid was a staggering £707.60. Thank you to all the children and their parents for their help.
