Ooh aah!  It was all aboard the good ship Hispaniola this week as pupils from Years 7 & 8 performed this year’s senior play, Treasure Island.  The Chaplin Theatre stage was awash with nautical artefacts, rigging, sails, a poop-deck and a ship’s wheel as the pirate crew set sail for adventure in the search for buried treasure.  Would our hero Jim Hawkins survive the journey and the machinations of the villain Long John Silver?  And would there be fortune or death for the men and women on board?  Wonderful characters, beautiful costumes and a set to rival the West End made for a joyous evening of pirate fun.
