Year 3 travelled in two time machines (looking remarkably like minibuses!) to Battle Abbey School at the end of their first week in the prep school.  They were met by ‘Brother James’ (alias James Dennett) who gave them a fascinating tour and talk in the Abbott’s Hall and library in the school.  This was followed by a brief walk around looking at gargoyles, secret doors and hidden graves!  After a snack all the children handled swords or shields and tried on helmets and chainmail.  Finally they filled the art room and were allowed to decorate their own shield.

This was a fantastic first outing for all of us – well done, year 3, and thank you to Battle Abbey School for letting us visit!
