Vinehall wins at National Athletics - National Champion U14 July 2017

Vinehall is a small school, but it punches well above its weight where sports are concerned. This season, both girls and boys teams have excelled at swimming and athletics.

Vinehall made the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) Finals for both swimming and athletics. Helped by brothers David and Lucas Maule, the boys did very well at Crawley for the IAPS swimming finals. In July, Vinehall got through to the National Prep Schools Athletics Finals at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. Twelve atheletes competed on 4 July. Zachary Nwogwugwu (Year 8) and his brother Zuriel are stars to watch in the future. Zachary beat the record for long jump and 100m in Sussex Championships and went on to become the National Champion in U14 boys 100m, as well as coming second in the long jump. The other athletes competed in the 800m, 300m and relays. The boys relay team came fourth overall in the UK. Fantastic results! Well done Vinehall!
