IAPS National Swimming Finals

On Saturday 7th May at the k2 swimming complex in Crawley 3 Vinehall pupils competed in the I.A.P.S. national swimming championships. One hundred and eighty schools enter the regional rounds in February, with the top 16 in each individual race going through to the finals

In the girls U13 freestyle Tabby McNulty had qualified in 14th place with a time of 32.99. At the finals she beat her time by a full 1.66 seconds to finish in 7th place with a time of 31.33. Tabby had worked hard leading up to the finals and this is her reward for the great effort she has put in.

David Maule went to the finals with the great news that he had been selected to train with the South East region swim squad and in the U11 50m Breaststroke he finished 7th taking 2.5 seconds of his qualifying time and finishing in 41.50 seconds. David has shown that if you put the hard work in you get results.

And the third swimmer to reach the finals was Lucas Maule, which was a great achievement because he was swimming in the age group above. He came 14th in the U10 freestyle. His time was 15.97 a personnel best.  I look forward to seeing him in that race next year.
